Computer Go

The computer Go uses GNU-Go program as its thinking engine. GNU-Go is a free and open source computer go engine. Although it's not very strong, but it's suitable for Go game beginners. The game can be handicapped, so that the computer become stronger. If you can defeat the computer handicapped for 9 stones, then you have at least 1K level. For beginners, playing games of small board is a good idea. The computer Go games can also be adjourned and resumed, just like network Go games. Following is the game settings dialog box:

Theoretically, any Go program supporting GTP protocol can be used as the Go engine.
